All of the items of uniform on this list with the exception of footwear, sport equipment are available from the school outfitters who are open from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm Mondays – Saturdays.

For boarding pupils, the school will arrange for measurement and ordering of a complete uniform. Alternatively, a full boarding uniform can be ordered direct from Simmonds by e-mail. They will require the measurements of the girl. Simmonds will also undertake to name a student’s uniform if required, for a charge. In an emergency the school will also name garments. The charge for this service is £50.
Naming Clothes All items of clothing, whether uniform or private clothing must be marked with the pupil's name and boarding number. This rule includes bedding and towels.
The following rules apply:
- Clear printed name tapes should be used. Iron-on tapes can be ordered through the school outfitters.
- All boarding pupils should deposit an initial supply of 36 name tapes with their Housemistress to be used on items purchased during the pupil’s stay at the school. The Sixth Form are expected to mark their own clothes.
- Name tapes should be firmly attached to the outside of PE shirts, jogging tops, jogging bottoms and athletic pants.
- Girls’ initials should be embroidered in red on the bottom left hand corner of their games skirt. Simmonds can provide this service.
- Art Aprons and lab coats must have the pupil's name on the front.
- Articles such as sports equipment, music cases, etc should be clearly and indelibly marked with the pupil's name. Sports bags should have a padlock with a numerical release.
- All items on the uniform list are compulsory except where marked “optional”.
- All items of clothing, bedding and towels must be marked with name-tapes with the pupil's name and boarder’s number if applicable.
- Preparatory School Boarders (Years 5 – 6)
The following items are needed throughout the year:

2 Red Beechwood cardigans with Beechwood emblem
1 Blue Art overall
1 large string bag for waterproof clothes
1 Material PE bag with draw string
1 Red or blue Beechwood rucksack for carrying books, stationery etc
Black flat-heeled leather shoes
1 Navy waterproof jacket
1 Cookery apron and food container
Red sun cap (optional - can be bought in the Prep Stationery shop).
Autumn and Spring Terms
2 Argyll kilt
3 White Peter Pan collar long sleeved shirts
6 Navy knee-length socks or tights
Red or navy plain fleece scarf
Summer Terms
3 Pale blue polo shirt with school emblem

Hockey sticks and tennis rackets. All items of PE clothing must be clearly marked.
All the above uniform with the exception of the optional PE equipment is compulsory.
Senior School Boarders Years 7 – 11
The following items are needed throughout the year:
Blue art apron with school emblem (can be purchased from the school) £6.50

(Compulsory - no other outer garment is permitted)

2 Duvet covers (not quilted) To be named on the outside of the duvet cover at the top right hand corner. Please do not buy duvet covers with plastic poppers.

1 large material laundry bag with drawstring for storage of dirty clothes. (Baskets etc not acceptable)
1 or 2 Suitable plastic containers for toilet requisites on a dressing table

1 Tuck Box that can be purchased from the school or a sealed plastic container of a similar size.
1 small combination padlock for lockable drawer.
Adequate personal underclothing including warmer items for winter
(All items must be named, machine washable and able to be tumble dried)
A clear plastic travel wallet for all travel documentation. Tickets, passports etc.
Toilet requisites, shoe cleaning materials etc.
Sun Protection Cream and Aftersun.
Coffee mug, cereal bowl and spoon for use in the common room in the evening
At the end of the school day all boarders must change into home clothes. T-shirts, sweaters,jeans and skirts are all suitable. Flip flops and backless shoes may not be worn around the school for Health and Safety reasons.
DVDs and DVD PLAYERS
Students are not allowed to bring these items to school.
HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATIONS
Kettles, rice-cookers or any other electrical cooking appliances
ARE NOT ALLOWED in the bedrooms and should not be brought to school. Any of these items found in a room will be immediately confiscated.
Kettles and microwaves are provided in the Middles and Senior Common Rooms. Rice cookers are available in the Sixth Form Common Room.
