Families are also able to buy non specific items of day uniform from other retail outlets.There is currently no change to the supply and style of the PE kit.   NEW ENTRANTS TO CHELMSFORD COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS All new entrants to CCHS will be required to wear the new navy and lilac uniform as the old uniform is no longer available in all sizes as a brand new purchase. The old grey uniform is being phased out over the next two academic years. The new uniform will be worn from September 2010 by all pupils in year 7 and 9 and all other pupils wishing to do so. For further details regarding the uniform guidelines during the changeover period please refer to the documents published by the school.Following the summer selling events CCHS uniform will be available for sale online and Mrs Taylor a member of Simmonds staff will be available to assist you with your purchases and queries relating to CCHS uniform. The new uniform list will follow shortly.   You may wish to print a copy     LETTER FROM THE HEAD   To: Parents of years 7, 8 and 9 20 November 2009 Dear parents Re: New uniform As you are aware Dr Noble has been working with a group of parents and representatives from the students to consider the issues that have been of concern for some time regarding the uniform. These can be summarised as cost, quality, appearance and practicality. Following extensive discussion with three different uniform suppliers a final proposal has been agreed to adopt the following: 1.  A shorter navy blazer with 4 internal pockets with the school logo on the left hand side. 2.  A pleated skirt, kilt style in a specially designed school tartan incorporating lighter colours against a blue background. The skirt will be designed in such a way as to have some “growing room” to minimise the need to replace it too often as the girls grow. The material would be washable, with permanent pleating. 3.  A short sleeved blouse of a semi fitted design, which is slightly shorter than the current blouse. The girls had a choice of a pink or lilac blouse and overwhelmingly opted for the lilac 4.  A V neck sweater, sleeved or sleeveless, navy with 2 single colour stripes around the collar to match the blouse 5.  Trousers will be available in a plain navy design to match the blazer. All other items of uniform will remain the same. As Dr Noble explained previously only Year 7 and Year 9 next year, from September 2010 will be expected to wear the new uniform. Other year groups will be able to move to the new uniform as and when they grow out of their current one. We have yet to confirm which will be the preferred supplier but we will look closely at costs, organisations, stock availability and of course quality. For the 2010-11 academic year the new uniform is expected to be worn by all students in years 7 & 9 and any students in years 8, 10 & 11 who wish to make the change. The uniform should be worn as a whole and it will not be permissible to mix and match items from the new uniform and the outgoing one.
