ONLINE OR FROM SIMMONDS TUNBRIDGE WELLS For your convenience Mascalls School has extended the choice for purchasing school uniform; choices now include shopping online, purchasing directly from Simmonds uniform shop in Tunbridge Wells and buying non specific items of school uniform from other retail outlets of your choice. NEW ENTRANTS TO MASCALLS SCHOOL School uniform is available to view on new intake induction evening and at other events as agreed by the school. At all times throughout the year uniform can be purchased online 24/7 or from Simmonds in Tunbridge Wells. Purchase uniform online at Simmonds website www.simmonds-ltd.com . Simmonds is based at 64 Calverley Road, Tunbridge Wells TN1 2UG. The shop is very close to the Victoria Shopping Centre and Crescent Road car park. Simmonds staff will provide clarity of sizing on school uniform, advice on quantities and care labels, thus simplifying the purchase and reducing the need for returning unwanted uniform items. For repeat and reorder purchases, shopping online is ideal giving customers the freedom to shop from home or work. Purchases are delivered to home or an address of your choice. Shopping online can provide a ‘one stop shopping experience’ for families. SHOPPING ONLINE Shopping online is available to customers 24 hours/day, 365 days/year. The quality service offered by Simmonds online is in keeping with the retail operation for which we are well known and respected. Payment online is secure and Simmonds operate a credit / debit card payment system through World Pay. Delivery charges apply but are based on product size and weight in accordance with postage costs. Delivery is within 5 working days unless otherwise specified. STUDENT UNIFORM YEARS 7 – 11 Boys and Girls - Capstan blue v neck long sleeved pullover. This garment is compulsory*
- Navy blue polo shirt with striped collar incorporating school logo*
- Plain navy or black coat (no large logos are permissible)
- Low heeled sensible back school shoes (maximum heel height 5cm)
- Rugby/football socks (sky blue knee length)*
- Rugby / football shirt – school design sky blue with navy band*
- Plain navy blue sweatshirt
- Plain navy or black tracksuit bottom
- Black plain t-shirt for dance
Girls - Years 7 to 9 Box pleat school skirt (no more than 4 inches above the knee) or regulation school trousers*
- Years 10 to 11 Straight school skirt (no more than 4 inches above the knee) or regulation school trousers*
- Plain navy, grey or black tights or black or white socks
- Hair ribbons and scrunchies etc. should be blue or black in colour
- PE sky blue cotton polo shirt with school logo*
- Navy PE shorts
Boys - Plain black trousers with no stitched on back pockets (i.e. jeans type pockets)
- Plain grey, navy, white or black socks
- PE white cotton polo shirt with school logo*
- White PE shorts
- Navy PE shorts for rugby / football
Optional - Navy blazer with school logo styled separately for boys and girls*
- Navy roll neck jumper with school logo*
- Navy fleece with school logo
- Navy woollen hat with school logo
- Blue or black scarves may be worn in winter
Science /Technology - A plain overall with long sleeves, preferably cotton [but not nylon]
Food Technology - Any colour full length apron may be worn.
The same overall must not be worn for Science and Food Technology Art - Any suitable covering with long sleeves and preferably opening down the back. A long shirt may be worn back to front.
All items must be clearly marked and permanently marked with the owner’s name. THE FOLLOWING MAY NOT BE WORN - Any items other than those specified in the uniform list
- Dark or black canvas jeans in place of school trousers
- Leather, suede denim, velvet or lurex coats
- Coats with large logos
- Fleeces, hooded sweatshirts or outerwear other than the Mascalls’ fleece
- T-shirts under the Mascalls’ polo shirts
- No white trainers (foot injuries may require students to wear black trainers or plimsolls)
- Shoes with heels higher than 5cm
- Sling-back, peep toe or mule shoes
- Boots
NB. Students wearing inappropriate footwear will be required to wear black plimsolls, which will be provided by reception - Scarves or hats relating to football teams or pop groups
- Jewellery of any sort, except one plain gold or silver stud in the lobe of each ear, not elsewhere. Other jewellery will be confiscated and returned to parents in the post.
- Studs or rings in any part of the body part from the ear lobe
- Extreme hairstyles. These include haircuts for boys and girls that are too short (less than grade 3) or with shaved patterns, braided hair, or coloured in an extreme manner.
- Make up must not be worn
