Simmonds offer two options for purchasing school uniform at your convenience; these include online shopping and shopping at the Rochester Grammar School Shop.
NEW ENTRANTS TO THE ROCHESTER GRAMMAR SCHOOL
For reasons of sizing, advice on quantities and care labels, and in order to avoid the need for returns, we recommend that uniform for new entrants is purchased at the Simmonds school shop based at The Rochester Grammar School. The shop is open for business during school term time on Monday and Wednesday lunchtimes between 1.00 pm and 2.00pm and is managed by Clair Spillet. Clair can be contacted at the Simmonds shop on . If phoning out of hours, please leave a message and a member of Simmonds staff will get back to you.
Please note that uniform for The Rochester Grammar School is not sold through Simmonds Shop in Tunbridge Wells.
SHOPPING ONLINE
Shopping online will be available to customers 24 hours/day, 365 days/year.
The prices are the same as shop prices and delivery is to home. Payment online is secure and Simmonds operate a credit / debit card payment system through World Pay. Delivery charges apply but are based on product size and weight in accordance with postage costs.
Delivery is within 5 working days unless otherwise specified.

STUDENT UNIFORM AT THE ROCHESTER GRAMMAR SCHOOL
The wearing of school uniform is compulsory in Years 7-11. It helps to establish standards of conduct and discipline. Rochester Grammar School seek the co-operation of parents in enforcing this rule. There are two school uniform stockists; S. Simmonds & Son. and Henry Taylor (Outfitters) Ltd.
Every effort is made to keep the cost of the uniform to the minimum, consistent with providing garments which will wear well. THE ROCHESTER GRAMMAR SCHOOL UNIFORM from September 2009 The school uniform consists of: *Tartan kilt - the length of the kilt should be to the knee and no shorter *Navy blue jumper with the school logo *Blue school blouse *Blazer with badge *School scarf or plain navy or black scarf Full length or ¾ length navy or black winter coat or mac This must be of a plain material The only short coat allowed is a school blazer with badge Please note that anoraks or hooded coats are not acceptable Shoes (black, flat walking shoes). Boots and sandals are not acceptable Socks (white, black or navy) or plain tights (black or beige) Science overall (must be long sleeve to wear in all science lessons) Purse belt (optional) *School summer dress (this is optional and parents of Year 7 students may wish to wait until the following summer to purchase) Updated list for Physical Education Red PE bag Predominantly white training shoes with non-marking soles Plain white T-shirt with collar House polo shirt – name embroidered in black (Hildegard embroidery will be white)* PE Skort - black Short white socks (for netball, tennis and athletics) Plain black dance trousers Navy blue shorts Hockey socks (knee length navy blue) RGS sweat shirt and plain black or navy blue jogging trousers for PE PE Skort The black PE skort is being stocked for all new Year 7’s and replaces the grey sports skirt. The selling price is from £14.35 to £17.35. Current students in year 7 to 10 can buy the skort from September 2009. PE Sweatshirt The navy classic sweatshirt will be stocked for all new Year 7’s and replaces the red classic sweatshirt. Current students in years 7 to 10 can buy the sweatshirt from September 2009 but must also buy the skort as well. House polo shirt -*only available from Simmonds until September 2010 The new Year 7’s will buy a house polo shirt as part of their uniform kit. The house polo will be embroidered with the house names in black, and on the black polo shirt the embroidery will be white. Embroidery will be in block capitals on the left hand side of chest as worn. *These items must be purchased from one of the two school uniform outfitters:
