UNIFORM Welcome to Simmonds School Uniform online shopping.                  CLICK TO BUY ONLINE OR SCHOOL SHOP? Simmonds offer two options for purchasing school uniform at your convenience; these include online shopping and shopping at the school shop. NEW ENTRANTS TO THE SKINNERS’ SCHOOL For reasons of sizing, advice on quantities and care labels, and in order to avoid the need for returns, we recommend that uniform for new entrants is purchased from the school shop which is located in the main school building, close to reception. An appointments system operates for the purchase of uniform during back to school. Please book your appointment directly with the school shop. Simmonds provide the uniform and are responsible for operating the shop which is managed by Caroline Jowitt. The shop is open for business during term time on Monday and Wednesday between 12.30pm and 2.00pm and every Saturday between 9.30am and 11.30am. During the summer holidays the shop opening times vary and details of these opening times can be obtained from The Skinners’ School website, or by telephoning or emailing the school shop; details are shown above in the contact box. SHOPPING ONLINE Shopping online is available to customers 24hours/day, 365 days/year. The prices are the same as shop prices and delivery is to home. Payment online is secure and Simmonds operate a credit / debit card payment system through World Pay. Delivery charges apply but are based on product size and weight in accordance with postage costs. Delivery is within 5 working days unless otherwise specified. Calls and emails received out of hours will be answered when normal business resumes weekdays between 9am to 5pm. NAMING ALL ARTICLES OF SCHOOL CLOTHING Please ensure that all articles of School clothing are clearly marked with your son’s name. Woven name tapes are available from Simmonds and can be ordered over the telephone or from the school shop. THE SKINNERS’ SCHOOL UNIFORM   For everyday School wear: SCHOOL BLAZER, DARK GREY/BLACK REGULATION TROUSERS or SCHOOL SUIT – for pupils in Years 11, 12 and 13.       SCHOOL TIE       WHITE SHIRT   PLAIN BLACK PULLOVER (School pullover is available), if worn, of orthodox -shaped neck pattern      DARK, preferably GREY, SOCKS   BLACK SHOES, of conventional pattern (but not suede)   RAINWEAR: no regulation is made, except that the style worn should be orthodox   SCHOOL SCARF, if worn For Technology:  APRONS are recommended (These are available from School     For Laboratory work:   WHITE LAB COATS are strongly recommended for use in Chemistry lessons from Year 10 upwards (available from the Chemistry Department).     For Athletics and PE   GREEN/GOLD/BLUE/WHITE Vest, according to House WHITE SHORTS (without logos), training shoes or plimsoles (with non- mark soles)     For Rugby Football and Hockey:   SCHOOL COLOURS REVERSIBLE JERSEY, BLACK SHORTS HOCKEY STICK- required after Christmas in Year 8 BOOTS suitable for RUGBY FOOTBALL (ie Rugby boots or soccer boots with Rugby safety studs)       SCHOOL SOCKS     For Cricket and Tennis:       WHITE CRICKET/TENNIS SHIRT WHITE TROUSERS or WHITE SHORTS for cricket (white trousers and white socks must be worn for School cricket matches. White shorts and white socks must be worn for School tennis matches and organised tennis).       WHITE CRICKET SWEATER     For general gameswear:   School sweatshirts and polo shirts must be worn and are obtainable from Simmonds. For additional warmth pupils are encouraged to buy black tracksuit trousers – (optional)     Mouthguards This is essential for every boy playing rugby in the Autumn Term     The School Outfitters authorised to supply articles of School wear are:   MESSRS S SIMMONDS AND SON LIMITED 64 CALVERLEY ROAD TUNBRIDGE WELLS                                                                    Sixth Form Boys may wear a round-necked pullover in a single subdued colour.   No logos, zips or buttons are permitted in the pullover. NOTES Full School uniform will be worn by all Forms on the journey to and from School daily and on all School occasions, whether at Southfields Park or elsewhere.  The School suit is recommended as an alternative to blazer and trousers for wear by older boys: this is intended for Year 11 onwards.  All Sixth Formers are required to possess a School suit for all best occasions and for such daily wear as their parents think fit. The School suit is in grey: shades from medium grey to dark charcoal are acceptable. It is worn with a white shirt and with black shoes of conventional style: from which suede is excluded.  Sixth Form boys may wear pullovers of a subdued colour with School suits at their discretion: black pullovers will be worn with blazers by boys in whatever Form.  Members of certain School teams are entitled to wear the navy blue pullover of their sport: this may be ordered at School and worn by these boys. (a) as an alternative to the blazer or jacket for attendance at School matches  (b) as an alternative to the black pullover as part of normal uniform. School uniform, it is considered, plays a sensible part in the maintenance of the School ethos and, through the wearing of the School suit especially by senior boys, in the development of self-confidence and of a mature bearing which is likely to stand boys in good stead on occasions of all kinds.
